At St. Nicholas, we support Essex Local Education Authority’s opposition to racism and its commitment to equal opportunities and treating people fairly regardless of race, ethnicity and culture.
We aim to: Ensure that all members of the school community realise that their contribution is valued, have respect and concern for each other and the environment. Encourage, foster and exemplify high standards of behaviour, manners and work in all aspects of school life.
To provide a curriculum, environment and teaching strategies that are challenging, motivating, purposeful and relevant, thus allowing each child to fulfil his or her full potential. To promote the personal development of each child in order to strengthen personal self-esteem and self confidence, nurturing in them a delight in learning and achievement. To encourage children to become independent, confident and self disciplined within a well ordered, caring and safe environment. To foster tolerance and respect for other people’s beliefs, opinions, feelings and cultures. To manage all resources, including human, effectively in order to enrich the quality of teaching and learning. To form and encourage positive home/school links.
