Our School is a voluntary controlled school. This means that, in our case, we are a religious, Church of England school but the Local Authority has responsibility for the school. However, anybody can apply for a place at our school and applications will be considered by the Local Authority following the most recent admissions criteria.
The Local Authority is also responsible for:
• Employing the staff
• Setting the admissions criteria.
In Voluntary Controlled schools, the land and buildings are normally owned by a charity. The charity appoints some of the Governors. In our case, the Local Authority owns the land and buildings.
We follow the National Curriculum and are regularly inspected by OfSTED and we also have Anglican Church inspections on a regular basis. Please visit the relevant pages of the site for more details on our curriculum and our teaching methods.
