In order for children to succeed and become successful learners, there has to be an open and honest dialogue and relationship between home and school. The parents/carers of the children that attend St. Nicholas CofE Primary school have embraced this mantra wholeheartedly. They are an extra-ordinary group of people who work tirelessly to support the children and our school.
Support is given by our parents in many different ways. Many parents support in school by hearing children read, working with small groups on specific projects and clubs, running fund raising events, supporting us to keep the grounds in such a good condition, supporting children when they are out on trips, supporting children with homework and with school work and parents/carers often support us financially. They also feedback to us and help us to develop our school.
Without the support and help of friends and family members, our school would be a very different, less successful place.
Parents/Carers are always welcome at St. Nicholas. We do, however, ask that you follow our volunteer policy and that you sign our confidentiality agreement if you agree to help us in school.
If you are interested in supporting us, please do come in and speak to Mrs Pigram, the Headteacher. Appointments may be made through Mrs Meldrum in the School Office or alternatively you can click here to submit an online request for an appointment.
Schools are obliged to have a Home – School Agreement. Our Home – School Agreement was written in consultation with all stakeholders in 2010.
At St. Nicholas, we have worked hard to develop a Home – School Agreement that enables us to work together in a mutually supportive way in order to provide an effective education for each learner. Consequently, we ask that children, parents/carers and the school (the headteacher) sign the agreement to acknowledge their acceptance of the document.
At St. Nicholas we are fortunate to have an experienced and committed staff who are dedicated to ensuring that a child’s first contact with formal education is positive and endeavor to provide a warm welcome, and a happy stimulating environment in which each child is encouraged to reach their full potential. Each member of staff has specific, designated responsibilities and would be very willing to help you with any queries that you may have.
